Who is Triambulo Ikebana?

Triambulo Ikebana is a performance company based in Sweden. Created by Sara Regina Fonseca and Catherine Busk, Triambulo Ikebana integrates pedagogical, social and artistic processes into its work.
Triambulo Ikebana is currently touring its artistic reportoire whilst continuing its projects of dance and social intervention.

TRIÁMBULO IKEBANA: THE NAME

'Triambulo' is an invented word which refers to a dynamic movement between three aspects: the artistic, the social and the pedagogical.
'Ikebana' is a Japanese word which can be traslated as "to bring flowers to live". Ikebana is also a Japanese technique in which flowers acquire philosophical meanings thereby being disattached from their original environment and rearranged in time and space. This concept has been developed by Eugenio Barba and recicled by Triambulo Ikebana.

Kriget och Festen - Take off

The project "Kriget och festen" starts in Bogota Saturday the 5th of July. The crew coming from Sweden consists of Catherine Busk, Sara Regina Fonseca, Aleksandra Rudnicka , Ulrika Selring and Max Valentin. We will work together with BeC and Nuevo Arcoiris in the persuit of an artistic intervention in different communities mainly in Bogota and Bucaramanga.

During our work in Colombia we will post images, impressions and reflections to the MySpace.

Review in the Swedish national dance magazine

The Swedish dans magazine (Danstidningen 5/2007) dedicates two pages to the festival Abundance and the piece Cumbia Kumbe.

On stage in the big square of Karlstad amongst autumn leaves and winds, Sara Regina Fonseca enchants with powerful Colombian pathos in Cumbia-Kumbé.

Review in Göteborgs Posten

The Swedish news paper "Göteborgs Posten" writes about Cumbia Kumbé on Friday the 28th of March.

In circular movements and with inner force, Fonseca moves through situations about life and worship. With some pieces of textile she creates strong images and metamorphoses. Body and voice become a rythmical unity.
